We use the same high-grade stuff you&amp;rsquo;ll find in the top three domestic brands. Why? Because we&amp;rsquo;re tired of seeing tubes burn out way before they should.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The deal with the glass&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the thing about low-grade quartz: it’s full of impurities. When things get hot—and these get &lt;em&gt;really&lt;/em&gt; hot—that cheap glass starts to soften. It warps. It bows.&#xA;Once the tube bends, your heat focus shifts.
