Keeping the Bathroom Warm (Without Blinding the Kids)
If you’re putting infrared heaters in a bathroom, an IP65 waterproof rating is a great start, but it’s not the whole story. Especially if you’ve got babies or toddlers running around, you have to think about more than just water. You have to think about the light. The real trick is figuring out how to keep the room toasty Without making the heater so bright it hurts someone’s eyes.
The “Glow” Factor
Most standard short-wave lamps are aggressive. They put out a harsh, blinding light that’s just too much for sensitive eyes. We handle this by adding special coatings to the quartz glass or using filtered filaments. Basically, we tweak the light spectrum. We filter out that piercing visible light and lean into the long-wave infrared band. The result? You get a soft, warm glow. You feel the heat on your skin immediately, but the light stays gentle. It’s the difference between staring into a spotlight and feeling the sun on your back.
Staying Dry and Cool
An IP65 rating means the unit can handle dust and water jets without breaking a sweat. To make that happen, we seal everything up with high-temperature silicone gaskets. We also use reinforced quartz tubes for the heating element so they don’t crack when they heat up and cool down quickly. But here’s a tip: watch your mounting space. Because these units are sealed tight to keep water out, the internal wiring can’t “breathe” as easily. If you cram too much wattage into a tiny enclosure, the heat builds up inside and can fry the wiring over time. Give it some room.
Making it Work in the Real World
We designed these to slide right into standard bathroom ceiling grids. We use simple, standardized connectors, so you aren’t spending all day fighting with the wiring. Now, full disclosure: because of that eye-protection coating, you lose a tiny bit of that raw, industrial-strength heat punch. But honestly? In a home bathroom, you don’t need a furnace. You just need a safe, comfortable space. Safety wins every time.
